PREPARING YOUR CROSSING
Up to 50 departures to Dover every 24 hours
P&O Ferries and LD Lines/DFDS sail every day (except Christmas Day) on the Calais-Dover line.
The companies have ticket counters in the lobby of the Cross-Channel Terminal (Calais Car Ferry). This is where tickets are sold and the check-in for foot passengers is located.
The companies also have offices in the parking lot (open 24/7).

If you travel to England (which remains outside the Schengen area), you are strongly advised to refer to British legislation :
www.homeoffice.gov.uk
www.ukvisas.gov.uk
More than two million cars and nearly 1.6 million LGVs pass through the Port of Calais each year. For your safety, you are requested to use the footpaths and to hold your children by the hand. Be attentive at all times and watch out for trucks manoeuvring.
When you check in with the companies, they issue you with a paper ‘hanger’ to be displayed on your rear-view mirror that indicates in what pre-boarding lane you must wait until loading begins.
Visitors are reminded that the terminal buildings are non-smoking.
Vehicle and passenger check-in takes place at least 30 minutes before boarding.
Be sure to leave enough time for identity checks at borders (border police and Home Office).
The terminal building is open every day from 05:00 to 23:30.
Reception and information : open from 07:00 to 22:00
Under the Treaty of Le Touquet, checks by the Immigration Service of the British Home Office are carried out on departure immediately after those carried out by the Border Police.
There are restrictions on the transport of animals to the UK, and we therefore advise you to contact your ferry operator.
The applicable legislation and formalities can be found on the British websit : www.defra.gov.uk
There are three Service Points in the pre-boarding zone.
Signs are provided to help you find them. Please follow the footpaths located at the start of the pre-boarding lanes.
