GOVERNANCE OF THE PORT OF CALAIS
MM Puissesseau, President of the CCICO and Percheron, President of the Nord Pas de Calais Regional Council .
Under the decentralisation law of 13 August 2004 and since 1 January 2007, the Nord Pas de Calais Regional Council is now the owner of the Port of Calais.
Since 1 January 2011, the Opal Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCICO) has combined the three former consular entities of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Calais and Dunkerque.
With regard to the Port of Calais, ownership of the concession for the public facilities, and by extension, that of the cross-Channel quayage and of the various services such as mooring, trailer hauling or towing (sub-concession) has been transferred to the CCICO.
In fact, it is a “legal continuation” of practices in the Port of Calais ever since 1925, and was reasserted in 1975 for the next fifty years.
The CCICO also holds the concessions in the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer.
The President of the CCICO is the legal representative of the port concession.
A report on port activities is published each year after the closing of the accounts.
