Cruise ships

The pioneer cruise ship was the “Stella Polaris”, a genuine floating palace built in Norway.

120 meters long, she had luxury cabins with private baths, two reading rooms, an auditorium, a smoking room, a large dining room, a gym, hair salons, a doctor’s surgery and a photo lab.

The crew of 130 took care of the 200 rich German, French, English, Norwegian and Finnish passengers who took trips for pleasure on the Baltic Sea.

Calling for the first time in Calais on 24 May 1933, the superb ship was to return in June, July and August each year until 1939, before sailing back to the far North.
